Thomas Vintage Motors has been in the business of restoring and preparing vintage race and collector cars since 1987.

We endeavor to achieve an authentically prepared car, true to its designer's intent and builder's techniques to the highest possible standards, yet not overlook selected modern improvements as required by our customers.

Our priorities for preparing road and race cars are:

1. Safety
2. Dependability
3. Performance
4. Appearance

The team consists of owners Tom and Kris Ellis, engineer Nathan Down and technician Jordan Evans.

Tom Ellis

A mechanically minded individual from the time he designed and built his first go-kart at age ten, to working for Bob Seiffert at Sports and Vintage Motors just out of college, Tom opened his first shop in 1981. Ten years after getting some friends together to start Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing - RMVR, Tom decided to sell the service and repair shop and concentrate solely on restoring vintage cars.

Kris Ellis

Kris started working with cars under the tutelage of her father before she could drive. When she got into vintage racing in 1985, her focus shifted from American V8's to European sportscars. Though she knew Tom from RMVR, their paths didn't connect until she was hired by Tom to apprentice at the shop. She races a FV, and has a love for brass-era and antique autos as evidenced by the projects in her garage.

Nathan Down

From an very early age Nathan has been interested in cars, especially race cars. His father constructs and builds his own Formula Fords in the UK and Nathan has been heavily involved in the design, construction and driving of these FF's called Getem. After gaining a BEng Mechanical Engineering degree from Coventry University (Equivalent to an MSc in the US) , Nathan went to Caterham Cars as Research and Development engineer. Here he was involved with engineering team that produced the Caterham 21 and R500 and headed up such projects as the increased dimension chassis, the SV, and the entry level Vauxhall Classic. Nathan then found himself stateside working for a Caterham Dealership in Denver, CO and in early 2008 joined the Thomas Vintage Motors team. Nathan is restoring a 1969 Lotus 61 Formula Ford when he can tear himself away from his beautiful family.

Jordan Evans

Joined the team in 2014 with an eager attitude to learn as much about vintage cars as possible. Coming from the new car era bringing many new ideas and an open mind to the (new to him world) of restoring vintage race cars.
